LOCKLAND, OH (FOX19) - The Lockland Local School District's request to remove the district's tax levy from the Aug. 7 ballot was approved by the Hamilton County Board of elections on Tuesday.
Lockland School District officials requested the removal after an investigation by the Ohio Department of Education discovered wrongdoing. The investigation determined that the school district had filed false data in an effort to artificially raise state test results.
School Board President Terry Gibson said, "… this school district has much work to do in the ensuing days, weeks and months to address the concerns that have been identified, and to regain the trust and confidence of the families we serve. We need to have the issue fully resolved before we go before the public and ask for its hard earned tax dollars."
