CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
The Reds out-slugged the Padres Tuesday night at GABP, but lost Brandon Phillips to a calf injury.
The Reds second baseman says he first strained the calf Monday, then reinjured during Tuesday's game.
"I'm not going to be playing for a while," Phillips said after the game.
Phillips hit the go-ahead home run before leaving with the calf injury. Todd Frazier and Ryan Ludwick also homered for the Reds, beating the Padres 7-6.
New relief pitcher Johnathan Broxton is scheduled to be in uniform for Wednesday's game.
