Those wanting Chick-fil-a for lunch on Wednesday were greeted by unusually large crowds.
Wednesday is the unofficial Chick-fil-a Appreciation Day, which was created on Facebook by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. He called for the celebration after the fast food chain found itself in the middle of controversy.
Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy recently said he believes in the Biblical definition of marriage, meaning it is a union between a man and a woman. Cathy said he loves and respects anyone who disagrees.
Supporters of same-sex marriage have accused the chain of discrimination and are calling for a boycott. Chick-fil-A said it does not discriminate against anyone.
Hundreds of Tri-Staters showed up to area Chick-fil-a's during the Wednesday lunch rush. Several customers reported lines out the door at several locations, and cars waiting to get in the parking lot.
