Obama or Romney? Pick your path at corn maze

Posted: Updated:
SHERWOOD, OR (KPTV) -

Americans will have to choose between President Barack Obama or Republican challenger Mitt Romney this fall in the presidential election, but visitors to the Baggenstos Farm in Sherwood will be faced with another choice: picking left or right at the farm's presidential corn maze.

Workers at the farm on Roy Rogers Road in Sherwood recently completed their annual maze, which features the faces of Obama and Romney. The maze will open in the fall.

Darla Baggenstos said the corn is still growing and will grow to about 10 feet to make it "nice and scary" for Halloween visitors.

The maze is always a big attraction, Baggenstos said, and this year the farm will conduct its own straw vote ahead of the November election.

Four years ago, the farm created an Obama-John McCain maze based on photographs of the two candidates, but this year, the designer created his own caricatures to give the maze an even more unique look from the air.

Baggenstos said she hopes the maze encourages people to get out and vote.

It's estimated the maze requires about 300 man hours to design, cut and maintain.

You can view the farm's past mazes at its website www.baggenstosfarms.com.
