Cincinnati, OH (FOX19) - Reds rookie catcher Devin Mesoraco has been suspended three games and fined after being ejected Monday night for arguing balls and strikes. Mesoraco said Wednesday he will appeal the suspension.
Manager Dusy Baker says he hopes the suspension will be reduced and didn't say how the team plans to handle the potential loss of Mesoraco.
"I was sticking up for our pitchers," Mesoraco said. "I don't need any umpires to like me. I'm just trying to be respected in the clubhouse and go about my business the right way."
