'Cause I'm saved by the bell

Happy FRIDAY!

Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that the heat and humidity will be on the rise for today with highs in the mid 90s. We do have a small chance of a pop up shower or storm, but that won't happen until later this afternoon.

To hear what Katy and Frank have to say about your weekend forecast, you can tune-in all morning long to FOX19!

Starting next spring, local parrot heads will be able to get the Buffett experience year-round once "Margaritaville" stakes out its new home in the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati. The announcement was made at last night's Jimmy Buffett concert at Riverbend Music Center.

UC police officer Richard Haas is now facing a federal lawsuit filed by the family of Everette Howard. Howard passed away last August after being tased at a party on UC's campus. Rob Williams and Sheila Gray will have the latest on this story at 5 AM.

Do you believe in UFOs and life on other planets? If so, we've got the place for you! The 42nd MUFON International Symposium is going on this weekend and is promised to be a "one of a kind experience" for attendees. Dan Wells will be live at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center with more information on the out-of-this-world event.

A huge round of applause is in order for American judo fighter and Middletown native Kayla Harrison! Currently ranked 4th in the world, Harrison took home an Olympic gold medal yesterday in the 78-kilogram division! Awesome job, Kayla!

Here's something that will put a smile on your face - all week long we've been giving away Reds tickets and today is your last chance to snag a game on us! Sometime during the 7 AM hour, Brad Underwood will be giving the go for your chance to win 4 tickets to tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates - you won't want to miss it!

All of us here in the newsroom have been excited about this since the initial booking of this interview - Dustin Diamond aka "Screech" from Saved by the Bell will be at the studio this morning before he makes his way to Hollywood Casino for a standup performance! Check out Tracey's one-on-one interview with everyone's favorite nerd from Bayside High!

News, news and more news - not only are we expanding the FOX19 newscasts to the weekends (Aug. 18), but we're also adding on an extra hour to the Morning Xtra! Starting September 10th, you can get a double dose of Tracey Johnson and Frank Marzullo along with all of the fun and our Xtra guests!

That, my friends, is your news making headlines this Friday morning - go out and enjoy your weekend and I'll talk to you on Monday!
