Today Charlie pledged $50,000.00 to the Reds Community Fund. The amount matches the money raised by Hall of Fame and newly bald broadcaster Brennaman on Friday.
Sheen was at the Red's game and watched Brennaman's live head shaving following the game. This was to raise awareness and money for the Reds Community Fund, the Dragonfly Foundation, and the Joe Nuxhall Character Education Fund.
"The City of Cincinnati has opened its arms to me so graciously and I'm compelled to give something back," said Sheen on Saturday evening. "If this contribution points one kid in the right direction, then we've done our job."
The money will go towards the Reds Urban Youth Academy, which will be a year-round baseball and softball training facility for inner-city boys and girls located at Roselawn Park. Partners in the project include Major League Baseball, the City of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Recreation Commission.
