Bikini-clad driver leads Monroe County, MI police on chase

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) - Monroe County deputies say a bikini-wearing driver led them and Luna Pier Police on a chase Sunday evening.

Police say Cheyenna Snyder, 27, was coming from the beach at Sterling State Park. She told officers she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend when she decided to drive home to Northwood, OH just before 8 p.m.

Jason Morgan, lead ranger at Sterling State Park, says the driver left the park and one of their park rangers followed her.

"The officer was acting as a witness because he was unable to get the person in question stopped here within the park, so at that point, he wanted to relay that information to local law agencies," said Morgan.

Officers say Snyder headed toward I-75, running a stoplight and nearly causing a couple of accidents. She started to go southbound on the highway. Police were notified about it.

Luna Pier Police pursued her for about six miles. It wasn't until an Erie Township officer pulled in front of her that she decided to stop.

The Erie Township officer gave her several tests, including having her walk a line on the side of the highway. The officer says she didn't pass the tests and was arrested.

Sterling State Park's troopers say they were glad their call was able to help, and that no one was hurt.

Snyder was arrested about two miles above the Ohio-Michigan state line, nearly 15 miles from the park.
