BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

The second annual DHL Family Day has teamed up with the Make-A-Wish foundation to make the wishes of two Cincinnati area children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions come true.

Family Day is an employee appreciation event held at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport where employees and their families are not only able to participate in fun activities, but choose a charity to sponsor as well. This year the employees chose the Make-A-Wish foundation.  More than 4,000 DHL employees and their families came out to the event and raised more than $12,000 to fulfill the wishes of the children.  Families were able to enjoy BBQ, DHL cargo plane tours, visits from Cincinnati Zoo animals, as well as the mascots and cars of the Kentucky Speedway.

The event was highlighted by the presentation of a check from the employees to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
