HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Ohio Republicans seem to be pleased with presumptive Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney's Vice President pick. Some Libertarians, like Ryan's old economic professor at Miami University Richard Hart, are pleased as well.
Hart says that Ryan was intellectually curious and had a passion for politics, he says he would come into his office and spend hours talking political philosophy. Hart says that Ryan will be a great asset to the Romney campaign. Local Republicans, like Hamilton County Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou, agree that Ryan will help Romney win Ohio.
Democratic local officials are also celebrating the decision. Hamilton County Democratic Party Chairman Tim Burke believes that Romney didn't make the safe choice, but rather picked someone too far right. Burke believes that this decision, will not play well in a blue collar state like Ohio. He says it could also negatively affect Romney in Florida, where many citizens rely on medicare, which Ryan would like to make deep cuts to.
