Ohio jury studies eye blinks as evidence in murder trial
Victim: David Chandler
An Ohio jury will study a videotape of a dying man's eye blinks before deciding whether he used them to identify his killer.
The unusual evidence for the upcoming murder trial of Ricardo Woods in the 2010 shooting of David Chandler in Cincinnati will be key for the prosecution. Authorities say the video shows Chandler, paralyzed from wounds to his neck and head, identifying Woods as his shooter by blinking at certain times for yes and no.
A hearing Monday could determine the trial date. Woods, 34, has been charged with murder, felonious assault and weapons counts and is now facing up to life in prison if convicted.
