Woman with local ties dies in Texas crash

LUBBOCK, TX (FOX19) - A woman with local ties was killed in a crash in Texas on Sunday night.

Authorities say Laura Beth Botkin, 27, died from her injuries sustained during a head-on collision in Lubbock, Texas.

A truck was driving westbound in the eastbound lane into oncoming traffic when a car swerved to avoid the truck. The truck and car both swerved towards the grass median and collided head-on.

The driver of the car Jonathan Runnels, 26, is listed in critical condition. Botkin, a passenger in the car, was from the Tri-State, but had moved to Texas.
