Firefighter hurt battling West Price Hill blaze

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - It took 43 firefighters to get a West Price Hill fire under control.

Crews were called to the home in the 1600 block of Gilsey around 2:00 a.m.

The fire quickly spread to a nearby home.

Crews focused on containing the fire to the original structure, to avoid destroying any others.

However, there was extensive damage to one exposure building and minor damage to another.

There was no one home at the time of the fire.

Due to the structural stability firefighters were unable to enter the structure.

One firefighter was sustained a minor injury during the battle.

Fire companies still remain at the scene extinguishing hot spots and will remain until contractors tear the structure down for final extinguishment.

The Cincinnati Fire Investigation Unit is on scene and the cause is under investigation.
