Local law enforcement agencies are joining together to crack down on drunk driving.
The annual 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign runs through Labor Day weekend.
Last year, Kentucky alone recorded over 5,600 crashes related to drugs and alcohol, resulting in 150 deaths and over 3,000 injuries. During the Labor Day holiday weekend, 13 people died, and over 332 were injured on Kentucky roads. Six of those deaths involved alcohol.
Officers from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana gathered in Newport on Thursday to announce the campaign. 3D Vehicle and fatal vision goggles were at the event to help illustrate the dangers of impaired driving.
