Two cats rescued during apartment fire

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - A two-alarm fire ignited in a Newport apartment building on Tuesday night.

Authorities say the fire started in a shed behind the building in the 600 block of Overton Street. There is damage to one apartment and residents will be able to move back in on Wednesday.

There were no reports of injuries, but two cats were rescued from heavy smoke on the top story of the building.
