Cincinnati firefighter elected as VP of IABPFF

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Cincinnati firefighter has been elected as the Executive Vice President of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters (IABPFF).

Firefighter/paramedic Kenyatta Smith is a 13-year veteran of the Cincinnati Fire Department. He  served two terms as the North Central Regional Director (NCR) and is the youngest to ever be elected to the position.

Smith currently serves as a youth mentor and coordinates the CAFA's School Supply Drive as well as the Holiday Toy Drive.

"CFD is proud of Kenyatta's significant contributions to our community, and we are honored to have a Cincinnati Firefighter serve as the Executive Vice President of the IABPFF," stated Fire Chief Richard Braun.

Smith's responsibility will be directed towards the welfare of the United Kingdom, the United States and the Caribbean minority firefighters as Vice President of the IABPFF.
