Teacher suspended for washing student's mouth out with soap
An elementary school teacher in Rochester, New York has been suspended for washing a youngster's mouth out with soap. Lori Thomas says she did it to teach him a lesson and keep him from getting suspended. Thomas says the ten-year-old boy uttered a "vile, very nasty" sexual remark to a third-grade girl The teacher says she took the boy to the nurse's office and put a drop of soap on his lip, washed it out immediately and told him she didn't ever want to hear "filth" like that again. She also says it worked -- the boy behaved the rest of the day. School officials are still weighing a punishment for the teacher, but dozens of parents want her back.
