Good FRIDAY morning! (that's always nice to hear, right?)
Before I get too into today's KI agenda, let me get you caught up on a few stories making headlines this morning:
All eyes are on Lance Armstrong after his 13-year battle against the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency is finally coming to a close. The USADA announced last night that Armstrong will be stripped of all seven of his Tour de France titles after he decided to drop his fight against the drug charges that threatened his legacy. Armstrong will also be hit with a lifetime ban later on today, meaning he could lose other awards, event titles and cash earnings.
Local restaurant owner Jeff Ruby has been banned from a Chicago courtroom after he was kicked out yesterday for mouthing an explicative to Drew Peterson. Peterson is a former cop on trial for the murder of his third wife. Dan Wells and Jessica Brown will have more on this story on the FOX19 Morning News at 4:30 a.m.
The University of Cincinnati has seen its fair share of turmoil this week after President Greg Williams stepped down unexpectedly just days before the new school year starts. This morning, UC's new interim President will be addressing the University about this week's events and what the students can expect to look forward to. FOX19's Brad Underwood will be live on campus with more details on today's speech at 5 a.m.
And now it's time for today's Kings Island lineup: starting at 5 a.m. Frank Marzullo, Tracey Johnson, Katy Morgan and Sheila Gray will be hanging out at the park with some very special guests in support of breast cancer awareness. Folks from Susan G. Komen, Kings Island and Kings Honda will all be there to talk about their efforts to raise awareness as well as give you more information on tomorrow's pink Snoopy drawing for a new 2013 Honda Fit! Katy Morgan will be doing the Snoopy honors tomorrow night between 6:30-8 p.m. at the KI fountain!
Between digging in Dino Land and playing in the fountain, our FOX19 crew has also been given the privilege of speaking with some very strong and inspiring people. We have several breast cancer survivors as well as family members of lost loved ones that will be sharing their stories of their time spent battling this disease.
As I said before, this is definitely one newscast that you won't want to miss! You still have time to purchase your pink Snoopy for a chance at that brand new car so be sure to tune-in while rocking your pink attire for all of the information on how you can be apart of the FOX19 THINK PINK campaign!
Have a great weekend and I will talk to you on Monday!
