Local Red Cross volunteers head to the Gulf Coast

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Local American Red Cross volunteers headed down to Florida Friday morning to offer support for areas affected by Tropical Storm Isaac.

The Red Cross emergency response vehicle is able to provide mobile or stationary hot food distribution, as well as sanitized water, which can become scarce during hurricane aftermath. According to the American Red Cross one vehicle can carry up to 1,000 meals.

Issac is predicted to hit landfall along the U.S.  this weekend. The Gulf Coast is bracing for the storm.
