UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
It was a sensational four-day trial that had twists and turns and covered the gruesome details of a man's murder and his body being burned in a truck.

A professional counselor testified Friday that Maxwell, accused of  killing and then burning her husband, could fit the profile of a mental disorder, causing her to suffer anger over being left by a spouse.

Maxwell's son James, who the defense had pointed to as the shooter, testified he had nothing to do with the death, bringing tears to his mother's eyes.

Then the defense called James' stepbrother who testified about what he says James told him, saying, "he told me a story; he said that he shot Gordon in the face four times and then they burned his body."

Then Prosecution pointed out that William had charges dropped against him so he could testify, asking,  "You're a bought and paid for witness, aren't you? They've paid for you to come up here to give some testimony to get a judge to dismiss warrants; that is a fair statement, isn't it?"

Finally, the case went to jury. The verdict read, "We the jury find the defendant Sharon Ann Maxwell, guilty of murder as charged in the indictment."

The jury found Sharon Maxwell, 44, guilty of the murder of her husband, Gordon Maxwell in Ore City in 2011.

The sentencing phase of the trial will begin on Monday. Maxwell faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Gordon suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head before his body was burned in the vehicle. He was 46 at the time of his death.

Investigators found Gordon's body and the alleged murder weapon inside a burning truck outside the home.
