KI for the Cure campaign raises $180,000 for Susan G. Komen

MASON, OH (FOX19) - The third annual Kings Island for the Cure campaign wrapped up on Saturday, ending with a big check and someone driving a new car.

The campaign raised $180,000, to be put towards the fight against breast cancer.

Proceeds from park tickets went to the cause, as well as the purchase of a pink rubber Snoopy floating in Kings Island's Royal Fountain. One Snoopy was randomly picked on Saturday, by FOX19 Meteorologist, Katy Morgan, for the winner of a 2012 Honda Fit.

Money raised goes to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Cincinnati affiliate. Since 2010, more than $584,000 have been raised at Kings Island for this cause.

Kings Island will be closed August 27th through 30th, but will re-open for Labor Day Weekend.
