Police: Woman set fire to apartment after fight with boyfriend

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - Police say a woman purposefully set fire to a Norwood home after an argument with her boyfriend.

The fire broke out around 1:15 a.m. in a two-family residence on Monday in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue near Victory Park Nursing Home.

Police say Stephanie Krauser, 52, got into an argument with her boyfriend and threatened to set their apartment on fire. When the boyfriend left the residence, Krauser came downstairs and warned the tenants on the first floor to get out because she had set the second floor apartment on fire.

The tenants on the first floor were able to get out safely.

The home where the fire occurred has been completely destroyed and the house next door has exterior damage from the flames.

Victory Park Nursing Home was partially evacuated as a precautionary measure.

A firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and was taken to the hospital, but no other injuries were reported.

Krauser was taken by Norwood Police to University Hospital for injuries unrelated to the fire then taken to the Justice Center downtown. She is charged with aggravated arson.
