Police: Man shot his brother in the shoulder with rifle

BROWN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

Authorities were called to the scene of a shooting involving two brothers in Hamersville on Aug. 26.

The suspect Michael Hacker, 27, and the victim Kent Hacker, 36, were intoxicated when they got into an argument and altercation at a home in the 2100 block of Eden Road. Authorities say Michael shot his brother in the shoulder with an AR-15 rifle.

Kent was taken to Southwest Regional Medical Center in Georgetown and later taken to University Hospital to be treated for the gunshot wound.

Michael was taken into custody and remains in the Brown County Detention Center on charges of felonious assault and using weapons while intoxicated. He was arraigned Monday morning and was given a $25,000 bond.

Kent is in stable condition at the hospital.
