Chapman sets Reds record in win

Posted: Updated:

Aroldis Chapman saved his franchise record 24th consecutive game in a 3-2 Reds win to open a three-game series in Arizona.

Chapman retired the Diamondbacks in order in the ninth inning to break the record once held by John Franco and Rob Dibble.

Bronson Arroy hit a go-ahead solo home run in the 6th inning and picked up his 11th win this season.

Sean Marshall and Johnathan Broxton threw a combined two perfect innings out of the Reds bullpen.

The Red maintain a 6 game lead in the NL Central over the St. Louis Cardinals who won Monday night in Pittsburgh.
