FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Firefighters battled a fire at a Florence home on Monday night.
A resident called 911 around 7:15 p.m. to tell authorities there was a closet on fire in the home and they were evacuating the building in the 6800 block of Sebree Drive.
Crews found smoke showing from the second floor of the two-story townhouse and quickly extinguished the fire. Fire damage was confined to the bedroom but there was smoke and water damage throughout the home.
Fortunately, smoke detectors alerted the occupants to the fire and no one was injured. The cause of the fire has not been determined. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
The displaced family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
