Police officer describes "model home" neatness of Laci Peterson house
One of the first police officers called to the Laci Peterson home says Scott Peterson's fishing story didn't quite hold water. Scott Peterson told police he had been fishing in San Francisco Bay the day his pregnant wife Laci went missing. Modesto Police Officer Derrick Letsinger testified today that when Peterson was asked what he'd been fishing for, Peterson said he didn't know. Letsinger also testified that the Petersons' home was extremely neat -- almost a "model home" -- except for several dirty white rags left atop a washing machine. Scott Peterson's double-murder trial resumed this morning after a three-day break. He is accused of killing his wife and their unborn child.
