Romney visiting Cincinnati this weekend

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is planning a visit to Cincinnati over the weekend.

Romney is attending a Victory Rally at Union Terminal on Saturday, Sept. 1.

Doors open at 8 a.m. and the event begins at 10 a.m. Weather permitting, the event will be outside.

Romney arrived in Cincinnati on Friday evening around 7 p.m. at Lunken Airport. Congressman Steve Chabot was there along with Congressional Republican candidate Brad Wenstrup to greet Romney and his wife Anne.

The Cincinnati Museum Center will be closed to the public until 2 p.m. on Saturday in order to host the event.

Romney formally accepted the Republican nomination at the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Thursday night.

Romney is visiting the Gulf Coast on Friday.

Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden was in Lordstown, Ohio on Friday. Biden drew attention to the Obama administration's rescue of the auto industry, criticizing Romney for opposing a federal bailout of General Motors and Chrysler. 

 

President Obama is visiting Ohio on Monday, Sept. 3. The President was originally scheduled to visit Toledo and Cleveland, but has cancelled his trip to Cleveland in order to tour the damage from Hurricane Isaac along the Gulf Coast.
