Ending the summer with a bang!

Happy Labor Day!

I know I might be a bit biased, but I think the Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Last Blast of Summer was awesome last night! After months of prepping and planning, it all paid off as we got to end the summer with a bang (literally!). Thank you to everyone who either came out or watched it from home - it was our pleasure to share the night with you! If you didn't get a chance to check out the show, you can watch the entire coverage by clicking here!

All last week the big question was "what will the weather be like for the fireworks?" Although we got the rain that was expected, we're definitely happy that it eased up for the show! Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that today's forecast will be a lot like yesterday - soggy and humid. Showers and thunderstorms will be popping up throughout the day with highs hanging out in the low 80s.

Police in South Fairmount are asking for your help in an overnight hit and run crash that left one person dead. A pedestrian was struck just before midnight on Harrison Avenue and the driver sped away, leaving the victim in the road. If you have any information, please call CrimeStoppers at (513)-352-3040.

Reds front man Joey Votto will be making another rehab appearance today with the Louisville Bats. Rumors were swirling that he would be back with Cincinnati for today's match up with the Phillies, but instead he'll be helping the Bats in the last game of the season against Indianapolis.

Hopefully you were able to sleep in a little this morning and if you're still looking to make some Labor Day plans, why not hit up Kings Island's Dollar Days?! Today's the last day the park will be open to the public until the Halloween Haunt starts up Sept. 21st so go out and enjoy food, games and merchandise for only a buck!

Something else that you can pay a visit to is the 26th annual AFL-CIO Picnic at Coney Island! The event kicks off at noon and will last until 5 p.m., rain or shine! Brad Underwood will be live at the park with everything you need to know on the FOX19 Morning News!

Congrats to Nancy Link of Eastgate for being this year's lucky duck in the Rubber Duck Regatta! Nancy is now the proud owner of a 2012 Honda Civic LX after winning the 100,000 duck race to benefit the Freestore Foodbank! Enjoy the new ride, Nancy!

That wraps up your news making headlines this morning! Go soak up the holiday and the last of your long weekend and I'll talk to you tomorrow!
