CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Reds first baseman Joey Votto singled in his first at bat after being activated from the disabled list.
The Reds activated Votto from the disabled list on Tuesday, but he did not play on Tuesday night. He batted third on Wednesday against the Philies.
Votto hadn't played since July 15 because of damaged cartilage in his left knee that required two operations. He had a rehab stint in Class A Dayton and Triple-A Louisville last week.
The Reds went 32-16 while he was out of the lineup. They currently have an 8.5 game lead in the NL Central over St. Louis.
First pitch is at 12:35 p.m. at Great American Ball Park. Votto is batting third and playing first base. Second baseman Brandon Phillips, who batted third in Votto's absence, is batting lead off.
