GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The wife of a Gwinnett County teacher who lost her hands and feet to a rare infection died Wednesday.
Hannah Rinehart's husband, Mark, fought the school system to use donated days off from fellow colleagues.
Mark's co-workers volunteered to donate their days off to him so he could spend more time with his wife and keep his job. The Gwinnett County School District does not have a policy allowing the transfer of days.
Hannah was a cancer survivor, but later contracted an infection that required the amputation of her hands and feet.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at North Lanier Baptist Church in Cumming.
Mark updated the website he had set up for Hannah on Wednesday morning about his wife's passing.
"At exactly 4:15 this morning, Hannah Johnson Rinehart went to be with the Lord. She is celebrating, and I am thankful for God allowing me to have the privilege of being her husband while she was here on this Earth. Family was present, and when Hannah was ready to go, she left quickly."
