Columbus Ships to arrive in Newport

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

Replicas of Columbus Ships will arrive in Newport around noon on Thursday.

The Nina was built by hand without using power tools and the Pinta was recently built in Brazil. The Pinta and Nina will open to the general public on Friday.

People will be able to walk on the ships and take a self-guided tour. It will cost $8 for adults and $6 for students. Children 4 and under are free.

The ships will be docked at 301 Riverboat Row and will be open for tours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day until Sept. 17.
