HAMERSVILLE, OH (FOX19) - A Bethel man has been charged with theft after confessing to taking money from Cornett's Lawn & Garden on Aug. 27.
Authorities say an employee of the Hamersville store stated that Scott Dray, 28, had taken $80 from the cash drawer then fled.
On Sept. 4, Dray turned himself in to the Brown County Sheriff's Office on unrelated charges against him for non-support. He was taken into custody and the next day he confessed to taking the money from Cornett's Lawn & Garden after being questioned about the incident.
Scott Dray was charged with misdemeanor theft and remains at the Brown County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
