BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -
Jacob Bumpass, a person of interest in the Paige Johnson case, was struck on the back with a tire iron on his first day back to work. The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that Thomas J. Snider, 49, is accused of the crime. Police say that Bumpass and his brother were both struck by a man unknown to them in the parking lot of his workplace.
Bumpass, who was the last person seen with Johnson before she went missing, was released from prison on August 1 after serving time for parole violations. Police say that when asked by a deputy why he thought he was targeted Bumpass replied "maybe because of the Paige Johnson thing."
Johnson was 17 when she disappeared in the early morning hours of September 23 2010. Bumpass has told police that he dropped her off at 15th and Scott streets in Covington that evening.
