MADISON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A Madison Township Elementary student was injured Monday morning after the school bus she was riding on was rear-ended.
It happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of Michael Road in Madison Township.
Police say Devin Monk, 19, of Middletown, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound when he rain into the back of a stopped school bus carrying 21 students.
A 9-year-old girl was taken to Atrium Hospital in Middletown. An 11-year-old boy complained of a minor injury and was assessed at the scene and released to his parents. The other students on the bus, ranging in age from 6 to 11, were not injured and transferred to another bus to be taken to school.
Monk, who was not injured, was cited for failure to maintain a assured clear distance ahead.
