FOX19 Tuesday Morning Headlines

Good morning!

Our weather team here at FOX19 seem to be getting a little bored lately which is great news for us! The beautiful weather is sticking around for yet another day in the Tristate! Meteorologist Jeff Creighton is saying that your Tuesday forecast will consist of mostly sunny skies and highs hitting a very comfortable 80°.

Everyone across the country is coming together to remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. It's hard to believe that 11 years have passed since nearly 3,000 people were killed when hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and a field in Shakersville, PA. President Barack Obama has proclaimed today Patriot Day and the day of National service and remembrance, so please take a moment today to send your thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.

Several memorials are being set up locally for the victims of 9/11 and you are invited to attend and share a moment of silence with your fellow community members. Starting at 4:30 a.m., Dan Wells will be live at the World Peace Bell in Newport where the Northern Kentucky Firefighter's Association will be hosting a memorial service at 8:46 this morning. If you have the chance, please stop by.

Working in the media has definitely exposed me to my fair share of crime in the area and personally, I think this is a great idea - Cincinnati Councilman Chris Seelbach is wanting to know your thoughts on public safety. A series of public meetings are being planned for you to come voice your opinions on ways to keep your neighborhood safe. Kelly Rippin will be live at 6 a.m. with when and where your voice can be heard.

It was a huge night for sports in Cincinnati as both the Bengals and the Reds took it to the field. Unfortunately, the kickoff to Monday Night Football wasn't picture perfect and the Bengals were smoked by the Ravens IN BALTIMORE (hehe) 44-13. The Reds, however, had a different story in what seemed like the longest game ever. After a whopping 14-inning marathon, Cincinnati took the 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ball Park.

Who doesn't love breakfast for dinner?! Especially if it's for a good cause?! Coming up in our 8 a.m. hour, Chef Michael Gorman from Vonderhaar's will be in the studio whipping up a preview of what you can get during the "Wake Up! It's Breakfast for Dinner" fundraiser to benefit the Freestore Foodbank! The event takes place on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Cooper Creek event center in Blue Ash. Be sure to check it out!

Last but not least, we're getting a little biker action here at FOX19 and you can be apart of it! The folks from Sports Clips and Quaker Stake and Lube in Milford are revving their engines for a motorcycle run to benefit the VFW Operation Uplink! You can hear all of the details on the biker run and cut-a-thon during the FOX19 Morning Xtra at 9!

That wraps up your news making headlines this morning-you can always tune-in to the FOX19 Morning News or visit our website for these stories and much more!
