Group turning Ohio State students' trash to cash
Drive past any Ohio college dorm the last week of school and you'll likely see trash cans overflowing with everything from coffee pots to computer monitors. Student volunteers at Ohio State have collected the piles of clothes, furniture and other items left behind when nine-thousand on-campus residents moved out last week and are having a huge yard sale.
Proceeds will go to student groups and charity. Anything left over after the so-called "Dump and Run Sale" will go to the Salvation Army.
Need a 1970s velvet couch? How about a giant blue fly swatter? These are among the thousands of items that will go on sale tomorrow morning in four large tents at O-S-U's Jesse Owens Recreation Center.
