Christian Talent Show

Christian version of `American Idol'

A Christian version of the "American Idol" T-V talent show is scheduled to debut this fall. According to the mission statement behind "Gifted," the show's goal is to convey God's message in a way that blends pop culture and Christian values.

The talent-search show is set to air in October on Trinity Broadcasting Network, a California-based conglomerate that features evangelists such as Benny Hinn. The son of the founders of Trinity is teaming up with Florida-based Wright Entertainment Group to create the show.

A cross-country bus tour to eleven Trinity stations is planned for this summer, where auditions will be held for solo singers, ages 18 to 24. The network reaches 70 million homes.
