"Share Song. Create Magic. Capturing the Memories of the 2012 World Choir Games," a limited edition coffee-table photo book with more than 400 pictures from the World Choir Games, will be available in time for the holidays.
The presale offer ends Sept. 25 and is limited to domestic orders. Only a limited number of books will be printed. Online orders will be available for shipping by Nov. 9. The book will be available in select Greater Cincinnati bookstores once it is published. International orders must be placed at http://int.2012worldchoirgamesphotos.com.
A team of close to 40 volunteer photographers worked to document the 2012 World Choir Games, along with staff members from the Cincinnati Organizing Committee; INTERKULTUR, the International Organizing Committee; and members of the community who contributed to a Capture Cincinnati Website.
There are chapters featuring competitions, Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Awards Ceremonies, Celebration and Champion Concerts, Duke Energy Convention Center, Friendship Concerts and more.
"There were more than 7,000 pictures to work with," said Chris Fenison, creative and online director at Pediment Publishing who designed the book. "The challenge was narrowing those down and representing as many countries and choirs as possible. We wanted to reflect the diversity, emotion, colorfulness and joy of the event."
The 7th World Choir Games were held July 4-14. It was the first time the largest choral competition in the world was held in the United States.
"The event was successful in so many ways that we will all want to remember it for a long, long time," said Dan Lincoln, President & CEO of the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau and director of the Cincinnati Organizing Committee. "This beautiful book will help us do that."
