DHL hiring hundreds of workers for airport hub

ERLANGER, KY (FOX19) -

DHL Express has announced the beginning of a hiring fair.

With construction of its 193,000 square foot addition at the CVG hub scheduled to be completed in early November, DHL Express has nearly 100 immediate positions available and another 200 available with start dates before the end of November.

DHL Express will hold a hiring fair on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn located off I-275 at the Mineola Pike exit.  On-site interviews and job offers will be made to fill the 100 positions available.

The CVG hub connects the United States to a global network spanning Asia, Europe and the Americas. Processing more than two million international shipments a month, the hub handles shipments bound for the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin America, and connects over 100 service centers and five international gateways in the U.S. to over 220 countries around the world.

With this current expansion, DHL Express will have invested $105 million in its CVG hub since establishing its U.S. international hub at the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky airport in 2009. Staffing has also grown, from 1,600 in late 2009 to approximately 2,000 currently. It is scheduled to expand to nearly 2,300 over the next four months and beyond.
