Benefit concert held to fight non-native beetle

BETHEL, OH (FOX19) -

A benefit concert was held on Sunday dedicated to the preservation of Southwest Ohio's healthy trees against the Asian Longhorned Beetle.  The Asian Longhorned Beetle is poses a hazard to Ohio because if it becomes more established it could have a negative impact on natural forest.

The event, called TreeAid, featured eight hours of continuous live music from five different bands. The event, held at Burke Park in Bethel Ohio also featured a variety of food vendors, green industry professionals, educational booths, demonstrations, an auction and a raffle.

The day is hosted by the Bethel ALB Citizens Cooperative, Inc and sponsored by the Village of Bethel, Community Savings Bank, and Loud and Clear Productions.  The bands that played were Acoustic Edge, Tracy Walker, Acoustic Heroes, Bryon Cox, and HearSay.
