'Mr. Perfect' to lead Chicken Dance at Oktoberfest

Cincinnati Reds great Tom Browning will lead the chicken dance at this year's Oktoberfest Zinzinnati celebration.

The chicken dance will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Fountain Square.

Browning is the only Red to ever throw a perfect game, accomplishing the feat on Sept. 16, 1988 at Riverfront Stadium. It was only the 13th perfect game in baseball history.

Browning was a part of the 1991 All-Star team and the Reds 1990 World Series Championship team. He joined the Reds Hall of Fame in 2006.

Browning is the third Red to lead the chicken dance, following Joe Morgan and Joe Nuxhall.

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is the largest Oktoberfest celebration in the country and the second largest in the world. The event runs Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-23, with a sneak peak on Friday, Sept. 21. It takes place along six blocks of Fifth Street in Downtown. Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.
