THINKING PINK with FOX19!

Good morning!

If you happen to read this newsletter before heading off to work this morning, be sure to grab a light jacket on your way out! It was definitely a little chilly when I walking to the car, but it's well worth the Wednesday forecast that's ahead of us! Meteorologist Jeff Creighton is predicting nothing but blue skies with plenty of sunshine and highs hitting 68°! Go out and enjoy it if you can!

Police are asking for you help in locating a missing teen. 14-year-old Amaya Early went missing from the West End early Saturday morning. She's 5'1, 128 lbs. and was last seen wearing a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt, black leggings and Nike sandals. If you know anything about Amaya's whereabouts, please call CrimeStoppers at (513) 352-3040.

With the 2012 Presidential election being right around the corner, Cincinnati has been a hotspot for several campaign stops. While today is no exception, it's an Oscar-winning actress and a former First Lady that are making the headlines. Natalie Portman along with Frances Strickland will both be speaking at the Cincinnati Museum Center as part of the "Ohio Women Vote 2012 Summit" hosted by Obama for America. Dan Wells will have the details on today's campaign event starting at 4:30 a.m. on FOX19.

I always try to let people know when local businesses are hiring and today, you have the chance to join the opening team of Cincinnati's newest hotel, 21C Museum. The hotel plans to open later this year and Brad Underwood will be live this morning with everything you need to know about today's job fair. We will also have the information posted later on this morning on the FOX19 website.

What do you think about this? A Rhode Island schools superintendent has put an end to father-daughter dances and mother-son ballgames to comply with a state gender discrimination law. The superintendent made the call after a single mother stated that her daughter was excluded from the dance because her father was not involved in her life. Do you think the superintendent was right to make this decision or do you think the child-parent events should stick around? Come let us know your thoughts on our Facebook page!

I know it's only September but retailers are already bringing Christmas to the shelves! This year's hottest Christmas toys include several blasts from the past along with the latest in tech gadgets. If you're one that plans ahead (I envy you), be sure to tune-in this morning for Rob Williams and Sheila Gray to give you Toys-R-Us' list of Christmas must-haves for the holiday season.

Our Cincinnati Reds are one game closer to taking the NL Central! Coach Dusty Baker was able to celebrate his 3,000th Major League game with a 3-1 win over the Chicago Cubs! Their series continues tonight at 8:05.

We are also giving away 4 tickets to Friday night's game against the L.A. Dodgers sometime during our 7 a.m. hour. You'll have to tune-in for your cue to call!

As you probably know, all of us here at FOX19 hold our THINK PINK campaign near and dear to our hearts. With today being the 19th of September, we're encouraging you to dig the pink out of your closet and join us in supporting breast cancer awareness!
