Oxford Getting Homeland Security Grants

The city of Oxford will be getting one-million dollars in homeland security grants.

The money will be used to establish the first hub in a countywide 800-megahertz communication system in Butler county. Control stations for the new system will be housed at the Butler County sheriff's office, Oxford police department and the EMA communications trailer.

Officials say the new system will allow for better coordination during a large scale emergency.
