SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a woman was assaulted and almost kidnapped outside of a Boiling Springs restaurant during a bachelorette party Thursday.

Spartanburg County deputies were called to Bangkok Cafe on Boiling Springs Road about 10:45 p.m. when the victim said she was attacked while talking on the phone outside of the restaurant.

The woman told deputies she and several friends were at the bar for a bachelorette party when she got a phone call, so she went outside to talk.

While on the phone, the woman saw a light gray or champagne colored, newer model two-door Honda Civic pull into the parking lot and park near her, according to a sheriff's office report.

She told deputies a man got out of the car, opened the doors and trunk then walked up behind her, put his hand over her mouth and told her to shut up using profanity, the report said.

The woman pulled away before he could get a hold of her and started screaming, then he pushed her to the ground, according to the report. She told deputies as he came close, she continued to scream and kicked him in the groin.

At that point, a large crowd came out of the bar, scaring him off, and he drove off along Highway 9 towards town, the report said. She told deputies he forgot to shut the trunk before fleeing.

The woman had some scrapes on her arms from the fall, deputies said.

She described the suspect as a black male approximately 25 to 28 years old, wearing an orange polo shirt and khaki shorts, had a short clean cut hair style and shiny white straight teeth, according to the report.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
