READING, OH (FOX19) - An accident leaves one man dead, one person in critical condition, and three more in serious condition. The accident occurred when the driver of a vehicle with four passengers was traveling at a high rate of speed down Reading Road and crashed into a utility pole around 3:15 a.m. Sunday.
The driver, James Walker, 40, had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters, and was pronounced dead at University Hospital. The other passengers, none of which were wearing seatbelts, were also transported to University Hospital where one is listed in critical condition and three are in serious condition.
Police believe that speed was a contributing factor in the crash that occurred at 569 Reading Road downtown. They believe that Walker may have been intoxicated as well.
