Merry Clinchmas! - Cincinnati News, FOX19-WXIX TV

Merry Clinchmas!

I don't think we could have asked for better weather to kick off the official start of fall! It got a little chilly, but it was definitely a nice break from what we've had all summer! Today is looking just as nice with sunny skies and highs hitting the upper 60s. Meteorologist Katy Morgan will have more on your Monday forecast starting at 4 a.m.!

The talk of the town this morning is about none other than our Cincinnati Reds! Despite the losses on Friday and Sunday, we're still pumped about them clinching the NL Central title in a sold out game on Saturday! If that's not enough excitement for you, Dusty Baker is also back in action after spending some time in the hospital last week. Welcome back, Dusty!

Sticking with the Reds, their team shop at GABP is extending their hours so that fans can stock up on all their gear! Brad Underwood will be live downtown this morning with more information.

The attorneys for Ryan Widmer will learn whether or not their motion for a 4th trial will be approved today. The Ohio 12th District Court of Appeals in Middletown will file its decision on the first of two appeals later on this morning. Widmer began serving his 15-years-to-life sentence in February 2011 after being convicted of killing his wife, Sarah, in 2008.

The Ohio State University President Gordon Gee is under some serious scrutiny this morning for his lavish spending habits. Rob Williams and Sheila Gray will tell you just how much he is spending on travel, entertainment and maintaining his home during our 5 a.m. hour.

The Cincinnati Streetcar has definitely received some mixed reviews from folks living in the Tristate. If you're against the new Streetcar, today is your day to speak up! Cincinnati Councilman Charlie Winburn is urging you to pay city hall a visit today and Jessica Brown will have everything you need to know at 6 a.m.!

Outside of it being Clinchmas for the Reds, our Bengals also took a big win this weekend against the Washington Redskins! I think everyone watching with me at Fountain Square was holding their breath for the last seven seconds of the game, but we ended up pulling through 38-31.

That wraps up your Monday morning headlines! As always, you can hear these stories and much more on the FOX19 Morning News followed by Frank Marzullo in the Morning Xtra!
