EDGEWOOD, KY (FOX19) - Students are getting some help with their math studies with the Investing in Students: Making Math Count program.
Fidelity Investments kicked off its first full year of the program on Monday. Employees from Fidelity work with students on innovative ways to engage them in math curriculum based on the investment industry.
"Math is a critical learning area for the state of Kentucky and actually even nationally, so if we can do this and come up with an innovative way to improve math scores and improve comprehension then it's a win for everyone," said Kelli Gilbert, the director of community relations for Fidelity Investments.
Organizers say students with high participation in the program last year showed improvement in their math test scores. The program was so successful last year, it has expanded from two Kenton County middle schools to all four and Holmes Middle School.
