I hope you were able to get out and enjoy the sun while it lasted because the rain is going to start settling in the Tristate today. Meteorologist Jeff Creighton is saying that things should stay pretty dry until later on this evening but once it's here, it won't be going anywhere for a while. Highs today will top out around 74°.

VP nominee Paul Ryan will be in Cincinnati this morning before making a similar stop in Dayton this afternoon. He'll be speaking at the Byer's Steel Group in Carthage and Brad Underwood will have the inside scoop on today's hot topics at 5 a.m.

Here's another job alert for those of you looking to rake in some cash: Toys-R-Us is looking to hire 45,000 employees nationwide for the upcoming holiday season. The company wants to remind applicants that just because the word "temporary" is tacked on to the current job title doesn't mean that it won't lead to full-time employment.

Local veterans are getting the chance to see the memorials in D.C. for free today through the Honor Flight Tristate program. The program's mission is to fly as many WWII and Korean War vets to see the memorials as possible. Our local heroes will take off from CVG later on this morning.

A sad story turns to joy with a little help from a Butler County deputy: 10-year-old Michael Smiley was heartbroken after someone stole his brand new bike and Deputy Matt Maxwell went to extreme lengths to bring a smile back to Michael's face.
