Guardian Angels to begin patrols in Cincinnati neighborhood

People in Cincinnati's largest neighborhood will have extra sets of eyes looking for crime beginning tomorrow. The Guardian Angels have arrived. They were introduced at a meeting last night and plan to start patrols in Westwood tomorrow.

A group of residents in Westwood, the city's largest neighborhood with about 30-thousand people, asked the New York-based crime-fighters for help. Four members of the Guardian Angels plan to spend several months training local residents, then they'll turn patrols over to them.

The Guardian Angels started in 1979 with patrols of New York City subways, but the group has expanded and expects to open more than two dozen new chapters by next year.
