Women accused of armed robbery near UC campus

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Two women have been arrested for an armed robbery near the University of Cincinnati campus.

The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police say Markeya Evans, 21, and Candis Walker, 21, both of Cincinnati, approached a victim in the 2300 block of Wheeler Street and stole cash, an iPhone and other personal property while brandishing hand guns.

Both individuals immediately fled the offense in a vehicle which was subsequently located in the 400 block of Kasota Avenue in Avondale a short time later. Both individuals were located and arrested. The property taken in the offense was recovered and returned to the victim.

Two replica BB guns believed to be used in the offense were recovered.
